School trip: Japan

In the school year 2025-2026, the study trip goes to Japan. We will experience Japan for real with everything from temples and sushi to manga, neon lights and hypermodern cities.

The first week at Ål Folk High School, I got to try river paddling for the first time. We had to work together and communicate in sign language while paddling. The best thing about sign language is that it has a lot of humor and liveliness, which makes it extra fun to learn. Robyn Berge Student I chose Ål Folk High School because it is a school for the deaf in a safe and beautiful place. The course gives me knowledge about the rights and way of life of deaf people. In the future, I want to use this knowledge to work towards improving the lives and rights of deaf people in Nigeria Ismail Badmus STUDENT Even though we are learning sign language, we have also had many exciting trips and experiences. My year in the sign language program also gave me the opportunity to see and experience the deaf community in a way you wouldn't otherwise get the chance to.
